By applying strong business acumen, ethics and leadership skills, Shatho is very much at home creating operational centres of excellence. His expertise in formulating winning strategies supported by his international experience allows him to guide, nurture and lead his team to deliver exceptional results – especially during trying economic times. Shatho has interacted with many customers during his career, and believes firmly in a win-win outcome for the purposes of driving growth and contributing positively to the economy.
Without compromise he respects every employee and always goes the extra mile to ensure a conducive working environment in return for good customer services. TSETSE GABOBOFANE. FINANCE MANAGER
Tsetse was born and bred in Botswana and is a chartered accountant with 12 years’ experience, bringing financial professionalism to the team. Her role is to ensure there is financial prosperity, security and stability in the business. Tsetse is a believer in the notion ‘attitude is the difference maker,’ and indeed it is. She says “timeous and accurate reporting is needed for the business, as it ensures decisions are made on time, and thus helps to drive the business’ management strategy.”
ANDRE SOLOMON. OPERATIONS MANAGER
Andre knows how important it is to take care of the details. He says: “This position makes me responsible for the daily operations in our business. Having previously been an IT Manager for 13 years, I enjoy a clear insight of how the IT systems work and how operations flow needs to comply to make them work. My position is diverse and each day brings a new challenge. I keep learning every day and am blessed to do what I love every day and get paid for it.”
NICO LATEGAN. TECHNICAL MANAGER
Nico brings technical and practical thinking that he learned during an electrical apprenticeship on the copper mines of Namaqualand. He subsequently achieved his N5 Certificate and became a registered installation electrician. Nico has over 35 years’ experience across many industries and is –as we call him- a jack of all trades. And yet, a mastery of all makes Nico indispensable. Nico says: “With ever increasing and changing technology I have learned that you can never be too old to learn something new and that change in the working environment and in life is inevitable.”
COLIN BARKER. COMPLIANCE MANAGER
Colin’s job is critical to the business’ promise to its customers. “I have to ensure that every product passing through TBCS is provided the best possible care. No pressure! I get to implement, develop and update all food safety and quality protocols. At present TBCS is HACCP compliant and gets audited by many competent authorities: the Department of Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF), the National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications (NRCS) and the Perishable Products Export Control Board (PPECB) to name a few. It is my mission to achieve 100% compliance for these audits and for this reason TBCS has one of the most intensive temperature control programmes and a myriad of registers verifying all aspects of food safety.”
PADDY FINNUCANE. COLD STORE CO-ORDINATOR
Paddy, the Store Supervisor has been in the business for 27 years. Despite his regular routine (that starts each work day at 06h30) and ends – as he says- “when it ends”, Paddy remains focused on his side of our business “Service is key and to service customers effectively, you need to establish personal relationships based on knowledge, trust and the understanding of their needs. A ‘can do’ attitude goes a long way.” Paddy can be trusted to say ‘ Not a problem, bring it on!” Perhaps this is why Paddy is an All Blacks supporter.
NICHOLAS RYAN. SHIPPING CONTROLLER
Nicholas has gained an enormous amount of experience in handling International logistics amongst our domestic and international partners and affiliate companies. This requires the highest regard for customer service and knowledge of logistics and distribution including monitoring of product transportation.
Nicholas has worked in a number of positions gaining invaluable experience in forwarding, transport, bonded warehouse, customer service, retail, international trade and general logistics. He has also developed and formed excellent working and personal relationships with people at these various companies as well as other service providers locally and globally. He has experience in working on projects from manufacture to completion, right up to final delivery, including invoicing, payment and reconciliation.
